But contrary to popular belief, taking couples photos doesn’t have to be awkward; The whole experience can (and should) actually be a lot of FUN.
Want to know our secret to taking couples photos together? We replaced the idea of “posing” with the act of giving each other prompts and cues. This simple hack elevated our photos from the dreaded, stiff prom pose shots and gave them a more natural feel. Cues take out all of the awkwardness and guesswork of not knowing how to stand, or what to do with your hands, or where to look because they push you to create authentic, real-life moments. Below we’re sharing our 15 favorite photo prompts so you can capture your genuine connection and walk away with the magical lifestyle photos that you’ve been dreaming of.

When I say to Seth “pretend we’re taking in this view for the very *first* time” or “act like we’re walking home from a party after too many drinks,” or “I’m going to jump into your arms like I haven’t seen you in weeks,” he has a natural scenario to create and a clear role to play… which leads to organic movement and bomb ass photos for our Instagram.
