It’s safe to say that 2020 has been challenging for all of us – in more ways than one. In recent months, turning on the news or scrolling through social media has incited more anxiety than usual, to say the least. If you’re anything like me, you could use a bit of extra encouragement to stay positive in these times of uncertainty. One outlet I turn to for comfort and motivation during periods of hardship is the wise words of others. There is something about reading inspirational quotes that helps settle my brain and allows me to create space for positivity. I compiled some of my favorite quotes below in hopes they can help you promote a positive mindset as well.
If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you may know that Seth and I recently moved to Honolulu, Hawaii. While we are beyond excited for this new chapter in our lives and grateful for this amazing opportunity, we went into this move dreading one thing; isolation. Due to the state mandate in place to protect citizens from the spread of COVID-19, we had to quarantine for the first 14 days upon our arrival. For us, this translated to 14 days in a 300 square ft. studio apartment with no access to the outdoors, laundry, trash disposal, etc. And let me tell you, starting each morning with a positive quote and some deep breathing worked wonders for my mental health. I spent the entirety of the quarantine feeling settled, and was able to avoid becoming stir-crazy or anxious. Needless to say, this routine truly helped me cultivate a healthy mindset.
