Hey there! We’re Aleah & Seth.
One of us has always had a passion for adventure, while the other knew nothing much outside of our area code. Soon after meeting, he swept her off her feet, and she swept him into the wonderful world of travel and exploration! Fast forward to now, we’re newlyweds, who made a vow to transform our everyday lives into an everlasting honeymoon and explore the world together forever. We want to make this dream a reality for others, too, so stay tuned for travel tips and tricks for lifelong exploration!
Hey! I’m Seth.
I was born and raised in Pennsylvania on a single lane road tucked back in the woods.
I grew up like most kids in rural PA: riding dirt bikes, snowboarding, fishing, hiking, and simply loving everyday I spent outdoors. I was your typical little boy that had an underdeveloped sense of both pain and fear and liked to get into a little bit of mischief now and again.
My parents instilled in me very quickly the value of hard work and that if you want anything in this life, no one will give it to you, you need to earn it. I started working summer jobs at the age of 13 in hopes to become more financially independent and the long term goal of buying a car at the ripe old age of 16. Upon graduating high school, I pursued the trade route at a secondary school and found a job almost immediately after finishing. Right around that time, I met a smart and beautiful girl (Aleah, of course) and got my first “real job.” It was all coming together, I began to feel like an adult. I had my small town Friday nights, a job that paid the bills, and a girl friend who I could see myself making a life with. My twenty-year-old self was content.
Before meeting Aleah, I didn’t think much about traveling…
but during our late night talks, she would often mention “getting away” and exploring this place or that. The concept of this type of travel was something I didn’t initially fully understand. For me, a vacation was going to the beach a few hours away, or on a trip up north to our cabin, and to be honest, I was a bit apprehensive about international travel. I didn’t know what to expect from the experience, and that made me nervous.
… and to be honest, I was a bit apprehensive about international travel. I didn’t know what to expect from the experience, and that made me nervous.
Everything changed the minute we stepped off of the plane on our first flight together abroad. By the end of this trip, I realized travel wasn’t just about seeing a destination, but instead an experience for unparalleled learning and self-discovery. I realized that exploring a new place and immersing myself in the culture present there was an opportunity to get out of my comfort zone and to meet people so different from myself yet so eerily alike. And just like that, I caught the travel bug.
Fast forward to today … I no longer fear the new and different experiences that go hand-in-hand with travel; I crave them.
Fast forward to today: I no longer find myself daydreaming of crazy, small town Friday nights during the week, but instead of getting lost in this crazy world as much as possible with my best friend and now wife. I no longer fear the new and different experiences that go hand-in-hand with travel; I crave them. Every trip we take only stokes the fire for me and always leaves me wanting more.
Hi, I’m Aleah.
I am a nature loving adventure-seeker who is passionate about sharing my love for exploration with others.
My background includes environmental and health education, community outreach, and communications. I am a biologist by trade and have spent time in Ghana, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic learning about education and sustainable development. As a high school science teacher in Washington, DC, I am able to combine my passions for travel and education, as I teach and travel with my students.
Like Seth, I was born and raised in small town PA; but unlike my husband, I have always been curious about the world and experiencing all of the magic and new experiences that it has to offer. My first international trip was to London and Paris with a student group in middle school. It was then, at the age of 13, that I first experienced the life-changing nature of travel and the exhilaration that goes hand-in-hand with every new adventure.
I started this blog to share my passions and inspire others to experience the magic of travel.
Since then, I’ve earned a Master’s degree from Johns Hopkins, married my best friend and love of my life, and knocked some pretty big adventures off of my bucket list. I started this blog to share my passions and inspire others to experience the magic of travel.
