7 Day Cruise to Bermuda

If you have time anxiety like I do, coupled with the ever looming FOMO, cruises probably aren’t your thing. The hop on, hop off pace can leave you feeling like you never truly got to experience your destination, but a 7 day cruise to this small island anchored out in the middle of the Atlantic is the perfect spot to travel via boat. Once you make landfall, you are able to treat your cruise ship as a floating hotel for a few days and can forget about watching the clock to make sure you’re back on deck before it disembarks for the next locale.

Bermuda is a gorgeous little island 825 miles off of Maryland’s east coast. This self governing British territory is surrounded by a reef that provides protection from the inevitably severe weather and hosts some of the world’s most awe inspiring snorkeling and diving destinations. A few days in Bermuda will have you seriously thinking about relocating to the middle of nowhere and living out your days in a pink sand paradise!

– Days 1 & 2 –

-Cruise ship festivities! If you’re new to this type of travel, don’t worry, the staff does a great job of making sure there is always entertainment and fun to be had! We attended art auctions, broadway-esque shows, tried our hand at Blackjack, hit the club, and watched movies on the big screen from the hot tub, all while we sailed the Atlantic on Royal Caribbean’s Grandeur of the Seas.

– Day 3 –

-After spending 2 and half days at sea, jump ashore and catch a cab to Horseshoe Bay Beach for some much needed pink sand coastline. Check out the tidal pool to the right of the beach for some rock scrambling and jumping!

-Visit the National Museum of Bermuda and do some swimming at the snorkel park right next door.

-Take a ferry over to Hamilton, the island’s capital, where you will be greeted with citizens of all ages sporting the iconic Bermudian blazer, knee high socks, and shorts combo.

– Explore Crystal and Fantasy Caves. These caves were discovered by two children searching for a lost cricket ball in tall grass when they stumbled upon a small opening the ground.

-Hop over to Blue Hole Park and walk the trails, explore caves, and take a dip in the blue hole.

-Stop in at the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo

-Mosey around downtown Hamilton for shopping, restaurants, and bars.

– Day 5 –

-Book a snorkeling trip for the morning and swim among sunken ships and corals to see some beautiful fishes.

-Grab some drinks at Calico Jack’s Floating Bar and walk the plank, ya scurvy dog.
